Big Upset At Chili Cook Off
On September 19th seven contestants brought their best chili to the annual chili cook off. Mike Miller the reining champion retained an air of confidence sporting his ?Chili King? hat secure in the knowledge that his recipe had been voted best many times. The remaining six contestants along with some 30+ voters/eaters all sampled the various products. After two hours of eating and debating the voting began. All the chili was of the traditional style but one, a white chili made by Sandy Rice. The judges began the tedious effort of counting the vote making sure there were no hanging chads or corrupt election officials to screw things up. The good news the decision was not sent to the Supreme Court, thus avoiding a political decision . In the end the will of the people was heard loud and clear. The winner, receiving 11 of the 34 votes cast, was Sandy Rice and her white chili. Mike?s reply ?I?m not worthy.? Thank you all for participating. Camper Social
Mark your calendar as the next Camper Social will be held in the community room on October the 10th from 7 to 9 PM. Same day as Kids Halloween party. Come have a beer, wine or soft drink, sit and chat with friends and it is all free.
Just a reminder to bring the kids and grand kids to the annual Kids Halloween on October 10th. Alison has planned activities and as always the trick or treat hay wagon ride around the lake. Adults, please have plenty of candy for the kids trick or treat as we take them around the park and don?t forget the camera. Please check the activity schedule at the office for times and places for all events.
